Middlebury Scout Troop 444

Thursdays 7:30 to 9:00pm in the Shepardson Community Center, Middlebury Thursdays at 7:30 to 9:00pm at the Shepardson Community Center, Middlebury

We are, as most troops, boy lead. Our Senior Patrol Leader (SPL) works with the Patrol Leaders and the Adult Mentors, i.e Scoutmasters to plan and provide a fun and challenging program for the boys to go as far as they want in scouting. We encourage scouts to follow their individual paths and incorporate scouting into their lives. Merit Badges are earned individually and as a group. Rank advancement is achieved through scoutmaster conferences and boards of reviews. Many of these things are gained through exciting trips, campouts, and Boy Scout events. For example, building camp gadgets such reclining chairs with cup holders with only what you can find in your surroundings, or competing in the Klondike Derby, a sleding race in February.

Although we only meet from September to June, we manage to include adventures such as, rock climbing, skiing, hiking, and many other fun things that the scouts decide.

In addition, we fundraise within the community, as well as participate and plan service projects that benefit troop 444, the scouts, and the community.
